:::::: ‘intermission’:::: At the exact half-way mark of a year of looking up something marvellous happened. July 2 2015 – the sky over Sams Creek turned green-black as heavy storm clouds rushed over the hills. A massive hail storm – the largest in decades – dumped ice over paddocks and roads. The hail was so thick that days later piles of hailstones remained frozen on the ground. The sky just prior to the storm erupting was recorded as a bonus LookUP picture – later Melinda created the responsive micro poem. Although, like every other LookUP picture and poem combination, visual artist Rhonda and poet Melinda worked separately on their contribution to the LookUP project, it was agreed that strange forces of serendipity were at work in the ‘intermission’ piece and this shared work was chosen as the vehicle to tell the extended story of what LookUP was all about…. (this tale is told on the reverse side of the printed postcard) PS this is artist Rhonda Ayliffe’s favourite card in the LookUP series.
